Taxis are a convenient and comfortable way to travel around Bahrain, easily recognizable by their orange and white or orange and gold colour schemes. You can find taxis at designated ranks outside major hotels, shopping malls, and on the ground floor of the airport.

Note that airport taxis incur an additional charge of BD1.00. In Bahrain, taxi meters are mandatory, and all cabs must operate with a functioning meter displaying regulated rates. If a driver refuses to use the meter, or if the meter appears covered, broken, or is not switched on, it’s best to leave the taxi and opt for another.
